At Mattydale Animal Hospital, we pride ourselves on our friendly, caring staff and excellent veterinary services. We boast four expert veterinarians and a 16-member support staff dedicated to providing you and your pet with the service and health care you have come to expect from us.

Dr. Karen Leshkivich, D.V.M.

Company owner Dr. Karen Leshkivich is firmly committed to continuing the tradition of excellence and compassion established by her predecessors. She purchased the Mattydale Animal Hospital in May 2001 and has been a member of its veterinary staff since 1995.

A 1994 graduate of the Veterinary College at the University of Tennessee, Dr. Leshkivich specializes in dental, reproductive, and exotic medicine, especially for rabbits, ferrets, and reptiles. Dr. Leshkivich enjoys breeding, training, and showing championship bloodhounds. Her current pets include eight bloodhounds, two cats, and two parrots.

Dr. Jennifer DiRenzo

Dr. Jennifer DiRenzo is originally from Baldwinsville, New York. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Albany in 2005, she graduated from Purdue University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Growing up in Baldwinsville, she is excited to be back in the Syracuse area practicing veterinary medicine.

Dr. DiRenzo's professional interests include all aspects of small animal veterinary medicine, especially internal medicine, general surgery and dentistry. When not at work, she enjoys kayaking, hiking, Zumba, watching movies and travelling. She shares her home, and heart, with Lena the Redbone, London the Beagle mix and Landon the 4-year-old Golden Retriever.

Dr. Thea Wallace is a 2001 graduate of the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell. Prior to veterinary school, she spent seven years managing a wildlife rehabilitation center, caring for orphaned and injured wildlife. Dr. Wallace specializes in caring for your dogs and cats and enjoys treating exotics and wildlife. In her spare time, she likes to grow houseplants, especially orchids, and spend time with her dogs, cats, fish, and parrots.

Dr. Kaznocha

Dr. Kaznocha grew up in Massachusetts and received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts. She then went on to attend Cornell University, where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

Her areas of special interest include internal medicine and dermatology, and she also has a special interest in wildlife. At home, she enjoys gardening and spending time with her husband and sons as well as their cats, birds, and fish.
